Very nice, authentic hotel with lush green garden, great kitchen, very friendly staff and calm beach. Rama and George are the best bartenders :)! Beach is clean and there are absolutely not too many beach boys compared to the neighbour hotels in Matemwe Beach… (we did a huge walk into both direction right and left from Kena on the beach and really, this is the most calm part of this long beach!) Sand is powdery white. High-tide low-tide is relevant but something that is worthy to experience Ocean has lots of seaweed and sea urchins around this beach but this is the Ocean, not a pool so this has not disturbed us at all :) Overall great relaxing and clean location with good kitchen and friendly staff!

This place was heaven! I even stayed longer than I first had planned. I went there as a solo female traveler and felt super safe and taken care of. Staff treated me like a family, tours were easily fixed and well organized on the island, food and drinks was delicious, beach wonderful, and the room was super clean and comfortable. A lot of people write about the sellers on the beach but honestly I had no problem with them at all. They are super nice to talk to if you decide to take a walk along the beach (they respect the property border) and respect you when you say that you want to walk alone. But if you are a little nervous about that it is good to know that hotel have staff at the beach at well.

Quite, isolated and intimate the rooms were huge with a secend outside secluded shower and lovely balcony facing a beautiful well maintained garden, the staff were extremely friendly. We got to known them intimately. The food was great. We booked only bed and breakfast but we ate all our meals at the hotel every day and every evening there was something different to eat every day and all very tasty the evening cocktails were also excellent we tried them all 😊 The on-site scuba diving centre “Scuba fish” owned by Ludwick and his wife was so professional and we had amazing dives too. We highly recommend this hotel Also it is a sustainable hotel and it even purifies its own water.

Kena Beach Hotel is a small paradise with direct access to the beautiful beach. On arrival, we were offered a free tour through the water to show us local sealife which was very interesting and kind. The room was very spacious with a large bedroom, separate shower, toilet and bathroom as well as an outdoor shower and a terrace. The bathroom even included a tube. We also made use of the Spa program and enjoyed a relaxing couple massage. The whole facility is very beautiful. In addition, the Scubafish Dive Center is part of the hotel which was very convenient for our diving. They offer tours for advanced divers and also tours that you can join without a diving certificate.

The welcome from Sarah and the front desk guys, pictures don't do justice to this place. Our Driver soluman fetched bus from the airport with cool cloths and cold water after a long flight and hot day. The staff at the restaurant prepared a huge snack for us as we missed lunch, but they organised something they called small but was huge. Mr Brian was there for all our activities and even became my p photographer after my husband got tired, lol.beds comfortable and the room was huge and the gardens are well taken care off and we did the low tide reef walk, our guide was amazing and spotted so many beautiful star fish.
